Currently there are six episodes on my FlossTube Channel – however, I have been unable to do any filming last weekend – I was working (!) and under the weather – so, expect a MASSIVELY LONG video on Sunday!
I was looking for some items to take to camp; which is at the end of August – however; I did not find what I was looking for. I have that I had THREE works in progress (WIPs). One I have been working on over the last few days; I have been trying to cheer myself up.
I have been working on the following:
“Christmas Cupcakes” from Janlynn
“A Very Merry Christmas Town” from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery
“Spooky Halloween” Stitch A-Long (SAL) from Lakeside Needlecraft
“Russian Dolls” Stitch A-Long (SAL) from KLT Charting
“Partridge in a Pear Tree” Ornament from Leisure Arts: Mini Cross Stitch Ornaments
“Cubified” (a geometric pattern) from Hallodribums (one of the WIPs found)
Pictures will be coming soon; or just head over to my Instagram or FlossTube channel for more info!
Until the next row…
If you follow me on Instagram; you would have seen this image pop up in your feed today! Yep, I have purchased, downloaded and printed off my first ever Heaven and Earth Designs pattern. This pattern is called Brigid’s Shamrock and I fell in love with it when I saw it in the Summer Stitch Day video by JustKeepStitchin’ – it was being done by an attendee at the event!
In one of my videos, I remember saying that I do not think that I could ever do a HAED pattern; as they are too large! *face palm* – I will keep you all informed with my progress.
Next the next row…
Oh yes! I have done it! I am now a proud member of the FlossTube community – may channel Dreaming in Aida currently has three videos and 57 subscribers (*at time of writing).
Here are the videos:
FlossTube #1 – Intro, WIPs, Finishes & Plans
FlossTube #2 – What have I let myself into?
FlossTube #3 – a little later than planned!
From watching other FlossTubers, I have been recommended many more – my list is getting longer and longer. Are there any you would reconmend? Please let me know, either here on the blog or at my channel.
As I have finished both “The Story Time Sampler” and “You’re Dino-mite” from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery; I am now working on “A Very Merry Christmas Town” as a Christmas present for my grandparents. I am still working on this piece at least one hour a day as part of the #TheStitchingHour2017 tag on Instagram. I have so many patterns I want to get started on. I feel that a pattern rotation may be in order; especially when you see what I have signed up for!
I have some exciting news! I have joined the following Stitch A-Longs (SALs):
KLT Charting – Russian Doll SAL – this started yesterday, 12th July. I am waiting for my DMC and Aida to arrive and then I will crack on with this. I cannot decide if I should do them in one long piece or in individual dolls. This is a fortnightly release; so I will need to gt my head down for this one.
Lakeside Needlecraft – Spooky Halloween SAL – this SAL does not officially start 1st August; but I am ready to start this SAL. This is a weekly release! I have my DMC and Aida – just need the boarder; which is released on 1st August.
I have ordered MANY needle minders from The Everyday Stitcher, a Heaven and Earth Design – Brigid’s Shamrock and a Rainbow Birth Sampler from Little Dove Designs. I am going to make the sampler twice; one for a close friend and the second for a former student. I hope that they like them! I can’t wait to show you all in my next video!
Until the next row…
As I am working more evenings and nights at the moment; I have more time to stitch in the day! Yippie! This is why I have brought up the topic of FlossTube. I have been watching some more channels; than the one I mentioned in my previous post – JustKeepStitchin; a mom/daughter combo. I love these girls, they make me laugh.
Pam & Steph of JustKeepStitchin have mentioned quite a few FlossTubers that watch and of course I am intrigued to know who these people are. One of these lovely people, the girls mentioned was Buckeye Stitcher. Nicole; what a lovely lady! Crazy cat lady, like myself! I am almost up to date with her videos.
I have also subscribed to the following channels:
Ginger Gerald Stitcher
McKenna at Every Stitch Counts
The Twisted Stitcher
There have been many designs from designers that I have never heard of; I am guessing that they are American designers and as I live in the UK, we may not have had these designs over here yet. I am plodding through my local HobbyCraft stores to find some of these designs. There have been websites for me to check out too – like for example 123 Stitch, Just Another Button Company and Lizzie*Kate. I cannot believe that there are so many cute and amazing designs out in the Stitching world! I WANT them all!
Are there any other FlossTubers I should be subscribing to? Or are they are other designers I should keep my eye out for? Let me know!
I have come to the conclusion that I am not that addicted to FlossTube yet, but it only a matter of time until I am!
I will be posting an update on the “Tea & Cakes” SAL from Lakeside Needlecraft soon – keep your eyes peeled!
Until the next row…
Since my last post, I have completed TWO more pieces!
The ‘Story Time Sampler’ and ‘You’re Dino-mite’ are now ready to be framed! I do apologise about the images; they will look so much better when I have the pieces framed. I am so excited about that!
I completed ‘You’re Dino-mite’ in less than SIX DAYS! I started it on Monday 12th June in the afternoon; I was away for a few days with my family and I needed some “me time” and I completed it on Saturday 17th June around lunchtime. This inspired me to finish the ‘Story Time Sampler’ and I finished the last frame in about three hours yesterday afternoon.
While I have been stitching; I have also been watching some FlossTubers – I have been inspired to create my own channel; so keep your eyes peeled for that!
The FlossTubers I have been watching are JustKeepStitchin’ – a mom/daughter combo Pam and Steph. I follow them on Instagram and I have fallen in love with their channel. The patterns the have been showing – I need them in my life! There are so many designers I have never heard of and I love the designs!
Now that I have finished two pieces; I now need a current project. I have started the ‘Tea & Cakes’ Stitch-A-Long from the beautiful Kate of Lakeside Needlecraft – I am a little behind, but I am very determined with my stitching. Keep an eye out for some progress photos on my Instagram account!
Yes, my #30For30Crafting challenge is complete! Tomorrow I will be starting a new challenge.
I have been inspired! #TheStitchingHour2017 hosted by @ambitiousstitches; bring on June 1st! I am already doing an hour at time, let’s make it two! Hee hee! I will be taking my stitching with my on my holiday with my Tribe – I am very excited! There is WiFi where we are staying, so I will be able to keep you all up to date on everything!
I want to complete The Story Time Sampler by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery as soon as possible; as the girls have created a dinosaur themed piece that will be perfect for my nephew!
I have also started A Very Merry Christmas Town by the girls; I felt that I will do this project for this challenge – I have got the evening off today; so I see stitching in my future!
Until the next row…
Yippie! Yes, you have read the title correctly! I have completed my first piece for 2017. It is only a small piece but it was a relief to me when I had completed it!
It is the ‘gift’ with Cross Stitcher (Issue 219 – Summer 2017) – it is a festival style cuff bracelet! Super cute! As a subscriber, I have already received this issue and I have already created a VERY long shopping list!
All the colours; except the lightest of the green were in the kit. However; it is a little too big for my wrist, but I still like it!
It thought that I would stitch this quickly to break up the #30For30Crafting challenge that I am doing with The Story Time Sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery.
Until the next row…
