2018 – what a start to the year!

cropped-21248426_352985481818798_512589887364767204_o.pngI cannot believe that I have not told you all about my stitching since November 2017! I am so so sorry about that! I have so much to tell you!

I now have a Facebook page – which is where I have been sharing all my projects; it is very active. My Instagram account is also very active, as I have been posting many on my projects there recently.

My Twitch Channel is now up and running! I am still trying to get a Streaming Schedule all organised, but it all depends on my work schedule – both for Online and Offline work.

The Etsy shop is now back open for business; I will be uploading my Cross Stitch charts soon!

I have been binge watching FlossTube; there are many channels I am getting my way through. The channels that I am now up to date with are:

However; I do have to catch up on Lindy Stitches, Bendy Stitchey Michelle and…well, there are a few! Today; while writing this post – I am currently at 146 subscribers and I need to post a FlossTube video later today – so keep your eyes peeled for that! I would love to have many more subscribers!

I made a “goal” for 2018 (I am not going to say ‘Resolutions’) to stitch more –  a lot more stitching! So; I had the bright idea to do as many ‘stitchy events’ as possible! Are you ready to see what I have signed up for?

Stitch Maynia has ‘one day SALs’ which I have signed up for most of the; the Winter Olympics Challenge (which ends today) and Tour de Designers. There are so many!

As for The Ultimate Cross Stitch Group; there are two monthly SALs – one counting stitches and the other is just a “show and tell” type of event. I sign up for them every month. There are also extra events that occur; for example another Winter Olympics challenge; I try to take part in them too!

I am in the process of creating photos albums on my Facebook page to keep a record of everything; from my finishes to my TUCSG ‘badges’

I will stop there; so until the next row…

Recent projects, New Starts and more!

As you remember, two posts ago – I was not well and I watching a lot of Twitch and FlossTube. I realised that I did show what I finished during that time. Other than the Spooky Halloween SAL from Lakeside Needlecraft I completed some other pieces. If you have watched FlossTube #13 – you will have already seen these; I apologise for this.

I completed the “Rainbow Birth Sampler” designed by Faye at Little Dove Designs.

I gave it to little Fife on the 18th November.

I had a new start; the Class Schedule SAL designed by Kirsty at Armada Designs. I started for the “Colour A Day” SAL from Stitch Maynia.

I think I may have started down a long and crazy road! I have joined the ‘Fabric of the Month Club’ via KLT Charting. This is October’s Fabric. It is called “Hocus Pocus”!

Ultimate Froggie Bingo

Yes you did read that right! For the last twenty days I have been taking part in a “Stitch A-Long” with the wonderful member of The Ultimate Cross Stitch Group on Facebook. The “event” was called ‘Ultimate Froggie Bingo’.

As stated in the rules, we all had to stitch a particular number of stitches – a square of the Bingo card – we could stitch more if we wanted. Some days, I just stitched what was required and there were others where I did LOADS of stitches. If I had stitched the exact amounts of stitches, daily, I would have stitched 2,975 stitches. However, I actually stitched 3,869 stitches over the twenty days! AMAZING!

Over the twenty days I worked on the Russian Doll SAL by Kim from KLT Charting.

Here is what I did:

And of course; the event was completed. I received my “badge” this morning:

I ABSOLUTELY loved this event, as I loved having a target (per se) I had to reach every day. Accountability was the key for me – I thank the admins who organised the event.

Been a busy few days…

Recently I had have the terrible and hated Autumn cold – I have done a lot of stitching o keep me sane. I have completed some WIPs – which is very exciting!

I have also been watching Twitch and FlossTube when I was ill – I have become a little addicted to Twitch. I have been watching fellow Cross Stitchers , Knitters and Crocheters.

Here is one of the pieces that I completed when I was ill. It is the Spooky Halloween SAL from Lakeside Needlecraft. I did have to do some FROGGING, but I was determined to complete this piece before Halloween; which I did!

I have also updated my Completed Projects page here on the blog and been doing some more FlossTube episodes. We are currently up to twelve episodes – amazing right?!

I know that this is only a short post; but I promise that the next one will be longer. It is getting late here now and I am back to work tomorrow!

Until the next row…

Two New Starts in One Weekend?!

Oh my word! Yes, you did read that right! I started two new pieces over two days – crazy I know!

I have started “Rainbow Birth Sampler” by Faye at Little Dove Designs and the “Spirit of Christmas Mystery Sampler” by Linda of Lizzie*Kate.

The Birth Sampler should have been done ready for the birth of my former “Brewery Wife” Trudy; however I was unable to get it started until I knew the baby’s name etc. I now have all the information, so I could get started. UntitledI am stitching it with the ‘called for’ threads; which are DMC and it is being stitched on 14 Count Aida in Celadon from Zweigart – which I purchased from SewAndSo. I have found that I was stitching this rather quickly! I am enjoying it so far! Fife; that is the baby’s name, is being Baptised in November. I REALLY want to get this finished and framed before then!

I am hoping to complete the “Spirit of Christmas” for my Grandfather and his partner for Christmas. At the moment, I do not know if they will like it or not; however, Judy – my grandfather’s partner, loves things handmade. I want to get this framed by the first week in December – so I will need to crack on with it really! Untitled1I am using Weeks Dye Works threads and 14 Count Aida in Heartland – both ‘called for’ items. I have never use WDW threads before – I just need to remember to do each stitch individually as the variegation will not work properly. I order the whole sampler kit from Peakside Needleworks, here in the UK.

The photos are not doing the pieces justice – that is the problem when taking images at night and the light is terrible!

In other news; I have also been doing some Finishing! Yippie! SUNP0002I have been framing (or re-framing in one case) and creating an Artist Trading Card (ATC) for the Cross Stitch ATCs “group” on Instagram.  I posted my partner the card this afternoon, on my way to a Cross Stitch ‘Stitch In’ in a local needlecraft store. SUNP0005The smaller piece is my “Princess Peach” stitching that I created for Sprite Stitch and the re-framed piece is the “Story Time Sampler” from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. I REALLY need to work on my “A Very Merry Christmas Town” too!

I have caught up to date with “Spooky Halloween” SAL designed by Durene Jones and from Lakeside Needlecraft and the “Russian Dolls” SAL by Kim at KLT Charting. I have also added to my Chart Stash; but you will need to watch the current episode on my FlossTube channel to see how they are coming along (FlossTube #11). My needleminders from The Everyday Stitcher also arrived this morning – I cannot wait to use them! I have also signed up for the “Beverages SAL” (from KLT Charting) and the “Class Schedule SAL” by Kirsty at Armada Designs. I am very excited about these pieces; they do not start until 2018! It will be here before we all know it!

This afternoon; as mentioned above, I have been at a ‘Stitch In’ event as a local needlecraft store – Threads & Patches, is the name of the store. It is not too far away from me and I thought I would try again to attend this place. I will post all about it soon!

Stitchy Update!

Wow, a lot to update you all with!

I will soon be filming my tenth FlossTube video and as of today, I have 100 subscribers! I said in my ninth update that I would do a giveaway when I reached 100 subscribers; I am very excited about it. I will be giving away one of my own designs – which I have not stitched yet. I will share it on here soon; not worry!

On Sprite Stitch (I have not done much of the stitching needed for there…), I have been updating my project list – it is called Jemma’s Stitchery – cute name right? Here I am keeping a list of all my completed projects; it is also here on the blog – just head over to Completed Projects to see them…not all of my projects are listed, I am getting them done slowly.

I had a visit from the “Frog” on my Spooky Halloween SAL by Lakeside Needlecraft; I am hoping to catch up with it soon. I had to completed re-stitch the first section, I have got the second, third and fourth sections printed and I am just going to work my way through them! The fifth part comes out today; which I will need to print off and add to my pile for this project.

LK-SOC1I have finally received part one of the “Spirit of Christmas” Mystery Sampler by Lizzie*Kate; however, I have not started it yet – I am wanting to do it for my Grandparents for their Christmas present. I will be focussing on it in the next few days, my mother is going away on holiday – which means I can watch whatever I want to the television and stitch for as long as I want! I am very excited! I feel a “Bring It On” or Harry Potter marathons happening! The second part of this Mystery Sampler was released on October 1st, however; I will have to wait for a few days (maybe a couple of weeks) as it has to come from the USA and then be posted to me from Peakside Needlecraft – this is the shop I am getting the items from.

A_Very_Merry_Christmas_Town_-_Cover_eaafb105-a0dd-410c-9e8f-55e93ca3aefd“A Very Merry Christmas Town” is coming along nicely too – because of the “Frog” visit I have not been spending much time on it! Whoops! Yes, I know! I need to get it done! I am staying positive about this WIP! I do love this design; well to be honest I love all of the designs at The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery. They are so cute and really modern. I have a spreadsheet of all the patterns and I am checking them off as I have bought them. Naughty, I know but you only live once!

6b582909f8017a691a8ce0e63479bb8aI have not touched the “Christmas Cupcakes” from Janlynn for a few weeks, as I wanted to get caught up with the SALs. I have completed two of the six cupcakes – I am calling them the “Holly Cupcake” and the “Candy Came Cupcake”.  I am up to date with the “Russian Dolls” SAL from KLT Charting; which is a bonus. There are twelve designs; umber six will be released soon!

FlossTube has been a god send over the last few days and my Wish list has increased – whoops again! I am going to focus on what I have “in front of me” for a while and get cracking! I have found so many new Channels to watch and I know that I will probably be binge watching them all! I am currently binge watching Debra, the AZ Needleworker. Debra has a cat called Princess; cute little black cat. Love her videos!

As my friend, Trudy, has now had her baby – a lovely little boy called Fife! I REALLY need to get his birth sampler done!

Too Many WIPs – where to begin?!

Yes, you are reading that correctly! I have too many WIPs! I am trying to do a rotation of some type – but it is much more work than I first thought! I am a “Start to Finish” stitcher; but sometimes I can get a little bored with a project if it a large one. When I was doing the “Story Time Sampler” from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery and at the end I just wanted to get it all done and dusted – because of its size. I am worried that is how I am going to feel when I start “Brigid’s Shamrock” from Heaven & Earth Designs…fingers crossed it will be all good when I start it!

I have a bag full of patterns that I have collected and also my mum, Dee, is a subscriber to “The Art of Cross Stitching” by Hachette Partworks. There are SO MANY designs I want to do – it does not help that I am also a subscriber of Cross Stitcher magazine – there are loads in there too! I have to get on with my WIPs, so I can do some of these patterns!

Here is a list of my current WIPs:

“A Very Merry Christmas Town” from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery

“Spooky Halloween” SAL from Lakeside Needlecraft

“Russian Dolls” SAL from KLT Charting

“Christmas Cupcakes” from Janlynn

However, I have signed up for the “Spirit of Christmas” Mystery Sampler by Lizzie*Kate; which I want to do for my Grandparents – which I am yet to start. I have kitted it up and it is sitting in my “WIPs Bag”.
